Description
Cheshire Cat English Solid Brass Pin Dish | 1920s
A useful little solid brass dish emblazoned with a grinning Cheshire Cat resplendent in his bow tie. A lovely item to display, but equally handy on your dressing table to hold jewellery as you get ready, on an occasional table to keep your keys or loose change in one place, or on your desk for paper-clips and other small items.
The rear of this dish bears a British Design Registry number which dates the initial casting of the design to 1922. It has undergone a deep clean with an electrolytic plate to remove old polish and has been re-polished to a fine finish ready for use or display.
Approximate Dimensions: 10.8cm x 8.2cm (at the longest/widest point)
Condition Report: In very good vintage order. Gracefully aged reflecting years of use, with some minor superficial marks to the surface, and very slight wear of the casting from generations of polishing.
